Activities

We believe it is important for every resident to be offered a choice of activities to suit their wishes and abilities. These help to keep residents mobile and alert, encourage them to take an interest in the people and the things happening around them, and enable them to maintain their hobbies.

Residents are encouraged to join in with activities and the choice is naturally up to each individual.

Because it’s important, we employ a social activities coordinators who ensures that a range of activities are organised either on a one-to-one basis or as a group to encourage each resident to join in. A ‘Life Story’ booklet is completed with each resident who wishes to record the important events in their life.

All major events throughout the year such as Christmas, Easter, and other religious festivals as well as VE Day are celebrated with parties and in other ways.

Theatre and other cultural outings, strawberry and cream tea afternoons, summer fetes, games, discussions, music, hobbies, reading, quizzes, and reminiscing are just a few of the activities on offer. We organise a summer barbeque and a Christmas party to which families are all invited.
