Management and staffing
Owner
Mrs. Kulbir Kandola qualified in
1993 as a social worker with an MA/CQSW and worked in
various teams in Nottinghamshire. She has extensive
experience first as a social worker, then in registering
and inspecting care homes, and contracting adult
services in the independent care sector.
She has owned nursing homes since
1996. She has wide experience of working with older
people, children, people with learning disabilities, and
people with mental health problems.
Mrs. Kandola takes a close interest in the running of
the Home to ensure high standards are maintained.
Managers
The Old Vicarage is managed by a
full-time manager and a deputy manager. The management
team is supported by an office administrator.

Care Team
We have a team of highly
qualified and experienced nursing staff, care team
leaders, senior care assistants and care assistants. All
care staff are required to complete NVQ Level 2 in
Health and Social Care as a minimum. We have a social
activities coordinator who organises activities to meet
the individual needs of the residents.
Hotel Services
We have a team of staff in the
catering department headed by the Head Chef. The Head
Housekeeper manages a team of housekeepers and laundry
staff. We have a full-time Maintenance Manager. All
staff ensure high standards of service are provided to
our residents at all times.
Supervision
Staff are well supervised on duty
and we provide good staffing levels to make sure that
the high standards of care are maintained.
Each member of staff has a
regular formal session with a manager to look at their
performance and to consider ideas they have. Everyone
receives an annual appraisal with the Registered
Manager.
Training
We provide regular training to
maintain and improve standards, and to ensure staff
skills and knowledge are kept up-to-date. New staff
complete a comprehensive induction course.
